Allanah Sarafian, QUT Fine Arts Design Student

For a girl who studies fashion, one would think I'd be able to effortlessly throw on an outfit and march out the door without so much as a second glance in the mirror.
Alas, no.

Remember the opening scene of Never Been Kissed when Drew Barrymore has every beauty product on the planet sitting on her chest of drawers, and her wardrobe has exploded all over her room?
Welcome to my mornings.
.
Fortunately, my fabulous friend and QUT Fine Arts Design student Allanah Sarafian has come to my rescue on the eve of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival model fittings.

I'm blessed that she found time to not only chat with me about her designs, but tailor make me a skirt to rock backstage at MBFF.

Allanah is one of the quirkiest, creative, and sensationally cool people I've met in my life. Of course, it would only be appropriate for her workspace to mirror this.

Where the magic happens.

Allanah's original paintings.
Wall of inspiration and accessories.

Voldemort, ever so helpful.

Putting the finishing touches on my fabulous new skirt.

What's your personal style like?
Phyllis Diller on crack. Or the result of putting Kurt Cobain, a grandma and Tinkerbell in a blender.

Where do you look for inspiration?
Everywhere. Pretty fabric is always a good place to start, second hand or vintage clothes are fun to tamper with.

What's your dream job when you graduate QUT?
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I don't know, something fun. I'd like to work with John Galliano, that would be fun. Or Romance Was Born. I'd like to start my own label and then conquer the world.
